What is the Impact Journey?

IMPACT provides disruptive, global flashpoint experiences, leading you on a more challenging path one step at a time. Learning in community, we unpack IMPACT themes through a variety of teachers, tools, and experiences to help you build your story, giving you a renewed sense of purpose and direction. We ask you to reflect on your journey, identifying crucial moments, and committing to be love in action.
We have 3 goals for IMPACT.
What does IMPACT stand for?
- Immerse - act of being all in
- Mission - uncovering your aspiration
- Personal - identifying how you are uniquely made and connected to others
- Action - intentionally living out your calling
- Challenge - healing your hurt to be love in action
- Transformation - claiming your story for positive change
What type of resources am I provided with?
- Everyone who decides to go on this journey with us, will be provided with the following:
- IMPACT t-shirt
- Luggage tag, stickers and other branded materials
- IMPACT Story Booklet to help you navigate the formation of your story
- Participant portal for IMPACT members to access before your trip
- Orientation videos and questions to help you prepare for your trip.
- Pre-trip meeting framework for leaders
What do I need to do to prepare?
- We will handle your travel, housing, food, and logistics. We ask that you come prepared to dive into how you were uniquely made so that you can use those gifts and talents to go and make the greatest change.
How far in advance should I apply?
- To ensure we are setting our teams up for success, we are currently not accepting individual applications for IMPACT trips. If you are a Church or organization interested in sending a team, please use our Contact Form.
- Those currently registered with an IMPACT team are required to submit your application no later than 120 days prior to your scheduled departure.
What happens after I apply?
- After you apply, you will be contacted in regards to the status of your application. Once contacted, you will be instructed on next steps to secure your spot on the Journey of your choosing.
- Our IMPACT Manager will be available to answer any questions you may have and to collect all necessary information from you before your journey. In order to secure your spot, please apply and register as soon as possible.

- We are excited to hear that you are interested in being a part of the Impact Journey with us. Leadership matters and it is one of the most important parts of an effective, impactful team. What is an IMPACT Trip?
- To truly embrace someone, the hug goes both ways. No giver or receiver exist, as both give and receive at the same time. So is our desire with our IMPACT trips. Join us in living and serving with international communities, discovering God's global heart through reciprocal relationships.
What can I expect to do on an IMPACT Trip?
- On an IMPACT trip, you will be asked to be present, be observant, and be available to all the experiences and challenges. Embrace the culture and the inner growth happening during your time abroad. Work alongside Nationals in their community, assisting us in our Growing Community model. Our goal is to offer a variety of cultural experiences to help our teams immerse into the culture.
What is the recommended group size?
We recommend creating a group that is manageable in size for 2 leaders – a logistics leader and a leader that will guide those in-dept, spiritual conversations. Generally this size ends up being anywhere between 12 to 24 individuals.
What vaccinations will I need?
- We recommend that all our IMPACT participants talk to their local physician about any recommended vaccinations you may need. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends making sure you are up-to-date on all routine vaccines before every trip and provides a detailed list of other vaccinations for international travel. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/list
- As of August 2022, the Covid-19 vaccination is not required for travel to and from Haiti or Abaco.
Is travel insurance included in the overall cost?
- Travel insurance is included in the overall IMPACT trip cost. We use Gallagher Charitable Travel for all our trip participants. Please see the attached document for more details on the benefits each traveler receives.
Is there a minimum age requirement?

An IMPACT trip is an incredible opportunity to expose your child to another culture and learn to embrace the differences of those around them.
Please keep in mind that this is a physically and emotionally demanding travel experience. Our team does everything they can to prepare and guide journey goers through their IMPACT trip. Children as young as 10 have participated on IMPACT trips.
We cannot guarantee how your child will handle and process these experiences. Therefore, we have the following requirements: - We require that if a child is below the age of 14 , a parent or guardian must accompany them for the duration of the IMPACT trip.
- If you are under 18 and not traveling with a parent or guardian, you will need to fill out our Permission to Travel Form .
What are meals and accommodations like?
- The hospitality teams are trained in sanitary food preparation and pride themselves in preparing quality meals to our IMPACT teams.

What is prohibited on an IMPACT trip?
The following items are prohibited on premises of Camp Abaco:
- Chewing Tobacco
- Vapes/Electronic cigarettes
- Cigarettes
- Firearms
- Alcohol
