Inontime – Boys of Faith

The Inontime Impact Team is made up of staff and friends of employees from the logistics company. Todd Bos writes about their day and shares a reminder that we need to rely on God.

To start the day off, Josh and Ruben did devotions for the team. They stepped out, in faith and actually said “yes.” As a dad, I was very proud that they said yes to doing devotions in front of 10 strangers(ish). They are spiritual warriors at 17 compared to where I was at their age in terms of spiritual maturity. The connection that those two have, is something very special to have. It helps me, as a dad, step out as well. Their message was from Proverbs 16 and was about how God will guide your steps. What I took away from this was we just need to take one step at a time, the power for friends, and a spiritual push for myself to volunteer for devotions in two days. And apparently, this blog. 🙂

We then took a road trip to the hydroponics farm called Driftwood Farms. This farm used coconut core and rice husk to grow a vast amount of fruits and vegetables. The innovation was astounding due to their unique ability to set up rows for specific crops. There was no waste whatsoever. Even the water dripped from one plant to another. Glen and Tracy Kelly offered us free samples, which were yummy! It is amazing how much Glen and Tracy are giving to even strangers! They aren’t growing just food, but also the community one tomato at a time! It is also crazy how both of them are able to do this, along with full-time jobs.

Half of the group stayed and helped on the farm to set up for the Farm to Table fundraiser, which was supporting Many Hands’ First 1,000 Days program. This program teaches pregnant mothers to care for, feed, and nourish their babies for the first 1,000 days of their child’s life.

The other half, the Inontime members, went back to Camp Abaco to clean up the beach. I stepped into their warehouse which showed that the world can truly be racked (your welcome, Greg.) We used their tools to clear the beachfront that’s been overgrown since Dorian. We tried to do “Two Things Different,” but the progress felt like we didn’t even make a dent (and we almost beached a truck). However, everyone else seemed to think there was a difference. It is crazy to realize, for the second time now, how our expectations didn’t meet reality. It’s a great reminder that we just need to rely on God.

To end the night, a large group of us went to Kirk of the Pines for a community night. Families came in, and we played board games and had dinner with locals. The goal was to connect with the church community. I personally am not a huge game person, but after playing a mean game of UNO, I saw complete joy in all the kids there. Their aspirations for their life now and in the future were evident. They weren’t just excited, but they were planning on things all driven by God.

Ope, I gotta go….It was also good ole Mike’s birthday, so Happy Birthday, Mikey!
