It has been a long week and today was the last full day on the island. It was a divide and conquer day. Part of the team went to Murphy Town Center, some to CAPS, and a few stayed on the campus. We spent the day wrapping up a lot of different projects. Mike x2 dug ditches at Murphy Town Community Center to complete the electrical side of the project. The ladies went to CAPS to help finish things up at the library. The rest of us burned the old beds, cleaned bathrooms, and did yard work at Camp Abaco.

It was hard work to prepare Camp Abaco for the kids that will be showing up in a couple of weeks. We pray our efforts will be a blessing to them.  It has been a long and tiring week but it has been fun to see the transformation of the camp and Murphy Town. We didn’t get to see the immediate impact but it is fulfilling knowing how it will impact so many kids and community members.

Laura has kept us all busy. We are tired and a little sunburnt. The team members have been stretched and challenged but our relationships with one another and Christ have grown beyond expectation. We have shared a lot of laughs and tears, and we have all sweat profusely. Our time in the ocean swimming and snorkeling have been a nice break. Big Mike finally got ice cream, LET’S GO!

These are called IMPACT Trips and we have experienced that first hand. With that said we are all looking forward to making it home to our loved ones. We showed up not sure of what to think, but we found ourselves sad to be leaving. God has revealed Himself in so many amazing ways and we can’t wait to share that with everyone when we get home. We left as 13 but we are coming back as one!
