Accommodations
Teams will stay alongside a Many Hands staff member at Abaco Youth Camp, located on the mideast side of the island. The camp is located right off the ocean, providing teams with a beautiful spot to unwind after a busy day, taking in the ocean breeze.
Abaco Youth Camp provides the following accommodations:
- Dormitory style bedrooms
- Suite-style housing available for Impact leaders
- Large bathrooms that include private showers and toilets
- Clean water and modern plumbing with 24/7 electricity
- Fully functioning commercial kitchen
- Hospitality team trained in sanitary food preparation
- 24-hour security
Serving & Projects
While in Abaco, teams could have the opportunity to serve in four initial areas:
- Construction - help in the rebuilding of Abaco through debris removal, roofing, painting, landscaping, and general building
- Youth Activities/VBS - help re-engage the youth of Abaco through sports camps or partner with a local church to host a VBS activity
- Compassion Ministry - partnering with local organizations, teams will have the chance to show compassion through food/clothing distributions, prayer ministry, and storytelling
- Agriculture/Reforestation - get your hands dirty by being a part of the beginning stages of partnering alongside local backyard farming initiatives
Costs
Impact Ground Costs include lodging, meals, ground transportation, and other items listed above.
- Ground Cost ranges between $850 to $1,100 per person for 6-7 nights. Non-refundable $150 trip deposit, applied to Ground Cost, is due 120 days prior to departure.
- Airfare Cost ranges between $850 to $1,400 per person.
With estimated Airfare Cost added to Ground Cost, the estimated total cost for an Impact Trip ranges from $1,700 to $2,500 per person.
*Airfare costs are highly variable based on demand, time of year, and departure locations. Many Hands works with a travel agent who will find the best itineraries at the lowest possible cost for each team’s trip.
