Be Where Your Feet Are

The Kairos team arrived in Abaco and got the opportunity to be hands on, working with God’s beauty at the Kelley Farm and joining with students in reflection at G2.

Dear reader,

First off, thank you for taking the time to read a little bit on how God is present with Many Hands in Abaco. As Emma and I reflect on the day, we are so excited to share with you all about God’s fruitfulness and abundance that was working through every person. We saw each person step into their personal calling to serve while being blessed at the Kelley farm. Hallee saw a little glimpse of her farm at home, which made her feel at ease and more confident to be in a new space. We had a great time picking spinach, tomatoes, green bibs, and so much more. Both of us deeply need more sunscreen… sorry Ruth (we tried). Both of us loved getting the opportunity to be hands on, working with God’s beauty.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful… Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:1-2,4

God is truly working through G2, a youth group with Kirk of the Pines.  We joined students aged 11-17 in reflection on how we can serve wherever our feet are planted. Emma felt God working through her when she realized she didn’t have to choose to be in the right place but God puts people exactly where they need to serve.  Hearing students share their ideas on how to use their spiritual gifts to build the church was powerful and aligns with our goal at Kairos.

“But God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.  If they were all one part, where would the body be?  As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” 1 Corinthians 12:18-20

Overall, today has been an amazing beginning to an IMPACTful week and we could not be more excited for what this trip holds and the people we will meet along the way.

Don’t forget to serve anywhere you find yourself.

Thanks for reading,

Hallee and Emma
