Culture Day

Today, the Kairos team took their culture day. They were able to visit a blue hole (An Abaconian wonder), a local Pub, and a beautiful white sand beach. Learn how the team was brought closer together through this restful day!

Today was focused on building relationships with each other and seeing God’s beauty in Abaco. We got the opportunity to visit a Bahamian wonder of the Blue Hole, along with a local restaurant called Pete’s Pub. Pete’s Pub is a local staple for boaters to visit on the Marina, but it made us pause as we thought about whether they just briefly stop by and don’t explore the depth of the hardships on the island.

It really opened our eyes to know that there is so much more under the surface and we are not able to explore all of God’s creation. Our group grew closer today as we continued to learn and see that we are the different parts that makeup “One Body”. It has been interesting to see all of our personalities come together and it was clear to us that the trip would not have been the same if any of our members were missing.

We were blessed to visit a beautiful white sand beach here in Abaco which showed us a completely different side of God’s creation. At the beach, we had time to bond further as a group, especially during our van rides today! We had the GRAND opportunity to witness Jace’s karate skills…. (Let’s just say we feel safer knowing he is with us on our trip)

To end our night, we got to have worship out at the fire, thanks to Evan, our firefighter. It was definitely a time to reflect and prepare our hearts to hear God speak through others for the remainder of the trip. Alondra did a great job of opening up our worship by reminding us that the battle is already won. Everyone faces their hardships here on Earth, but God was kind enough to put His strength into us so we can go and serve Him. We are eager to see and experience everything that is in store for us tomorrow and we are ready and able to trust God in the process.

Stay fierce,

Bri, Chelsea, & Sophia (Blog Captain)
