Fruit Ninja

The Kairos team wrapped up their time in Abaco by finishing up some projects they had been tasked with throughout the week and sharing their IMPACT stories.

Today was our last day, and we went back to the Saunders’ house to wrap up the projects we had been working on throughout the week. Inside the house, we wrapped up priming the second room. Outside the house, one group finished up the hardy board, and another group painted another side of the facia board. Concluding these projects was a great way to wrap up the week, allowing us to see how far we have come with the work physically, and spiritually. Before leaving the Saunders’ house we had the opportunity to pray over the house and their family unit.

Once we arrived back at camp, we got to spend time enjoying the water, and putting the finishing touches on our Impact Stories. We have been working on our Impact Stories throughout the week, which in summary are our reflections on how we were impacted on the trip and how we can share our stories with others when we get back. It was a beautiful evening hearing each other’s stories, and all about how God has been faithful throughout our lives, in so many different ways.

To conclude the evening, we witnessed two competitive showdowns. With the big competitions, we had many visitors travel from far away, including, the Saunders, the Kellys, and Ms. Dorreen. Alondra and Coach Stephan had been waiting for this rematch since last July. Coach (Stephan) thought he could beat Alondra in a basketball match; later finding out she was the only one who had the desire to take away his title of Coach. After an intense best of three, Jace and Alondra defeated Coach and Hallee. Following this competitive showdown, we then moved on to real-life Fruit Ninja. Glen Kelly challenged Alondra to a coconut feud to reclaim his coconut-cutting champion title. Rumor has it that Glen reclaimed this title, but we may never know. To end the night the Kelly’s made all of us smoothies and we got the opportunity to worship with all of our visitors.

Real life "Fruit Ninjas!"

It was a great way to end our week, and we are very grateful for our time together.

Year Two…

–Signing out, Alondra and Kenzie!
