Love Stories

The last full day for the Kraal Michigan Team and Trinity Church Group was full of prayer, love, and inspiring stories.

Our last full day in Abaco started with a physical meal lovingly made by the men in our group. Following that, we had a spiritual meal at Kirk of the Pines church where the pastor gave us a message of love from I Corinthians 13. After almost a week of showing love to the people living in Abaco we were inspired when we heard that “agape love is the most compelling witness to the watching world”. The pastor shared how growth has happened since his previous visit here which gave us another glimpse of how God loves the people here in Abaco. He continues to give us hope through love stories of restoration following tragedy.

After a lovely lunch and some time spent watching a gentleman prepare fresh conch salad we took God’s love in action seriously.  We separated into prayer teams and walked the streets around the Community Center praying for those we encountered and their community. This was out of the comfort zone of many of our group, others loved it!

God gave us a beautiful day to enjoy His creation so we enjoyed some free time around camp which included some snorkeling and listening to the final game of the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team.

Before and after dinner everyone shared the story of the experience from the week that impacted them the most. We also shared how we plan to commit our love-in-action stories as we transition back to our homes.

Several of us remarked how the Author of agape love knit us together as a team which covered 3 generations and several different families.  The friendships formed and the stories we were blessed to be a part of will have a lasting impact. We are thankful that God’s love story for the people of Abaco includes us!

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

In love…
