Greetings from Abaco! We started our first full day on the island with a devotion from Randy and Carrie on hope. Laura gave us a tour of the campus and we ended in the chapel with her telling us the amazing story of how Many Hands ended up on the island. We were blown away by the many ways that God was working behind the scenes to bring Many Hands to Abaco! Dianna was personally touched by the story of the destruction brought by Hurricane Dorian and Covid-19 right on the heels of the hurricane. Yesterday when we arrived at the camp, one of the first things we noticed was the numerous trees that looked like they had been snapped off, changing the landscape and not making it the beautiful tropical paradise we had pictured the Bahamas to be.
Today as a team we worked on several projects around the camp and appreciated the opportunity to get to know each other better and enjoy working together shoulder to shoulder. Although we are all very tired from the travel yesterday and hard work today, we are anticipating the ways that we will encounter God working in our hearts as we follow His lead in serving the people of Abaco! As Larry was walking across the campus today, he was reminded of the song with these words, “Holy, You are holy, King of kings, Lord of lords, we worship you” We are feeling very blessed to be able to worship Him in this setting and with these amazing people!
