Seeing God’s Beauty

Wow what a day! We are ending it exhausted, sunburnt, (we promise we put sunscreen on) and ready for bed. We woke up this morning and had breakfast at 6:30am. We were ready for a full day of fun. We drove an hour to a harbour and hopped in a boat, not knowing what we were doing. After a little boat cruise, we got to the first Cay and were surprised to hear that we were swimming with pigs! Unfortunately, the pigs were not in the swimming mood so we swam with each other. A few hours later we headed to a little cove where we got to see sea turtles. They were beautiful! Our next destination was a small Cay with stingrays and sharks. When we got there, we had lunch on the beach, then swam with the stingrays and sharks. It was so cool, the stingrays would come right up to us and brush their body against us. We also got to feed them. The sharks would also come surprisingly close, but don’t worry no one lost an arm. We headed back for the harbor and had a bumpy ride back – causing some of us to bounce up off our seats a few times. It made for a lot of laughs and memories we will never forget.

We rushed back to camp, changed, and then headed to G2 – Growth Groups. When the students arrived we played football, soccer, and volleyball. Then Ian, Adelle, Caitlin, and Nanci-Lynn led us in worship. We were able to teach the students our favorite song, Days of Elijah. Mr. De Ruiter spoke and talked about his life in the mission field and how we can be missionaries in our communities. After his message, we broke into small groups and got to interact with the high schoolers on a more one on one basis. It was a joy getting to interact with kids our own age and we were sad to say goodbye, but blessed with the opportunity. We headed back to camp, had dinner, and finished our night with IMPACT discussion. Throughout our day, we were able to see God in all the beautiful creation, the turquoise water, white sand, crazy animals, and His people. This trip has definitely been impacting each one of our lives and we can’t wait to share the details when we get home.
