Spiritual blessings can often be more impactful than physical blessings; the Kairos team had the opportunity to provide spiritual blessings to Abaco community members facing hardship. Learn about how God worked through the Kairos team on such a difficult, but eye-opening day.
Hello from another blessed day in Abaco from the Kairos group and specifically the boys. Today was much different than the rest of the days as it was more focused on spiritual service rather than physical. The day started with a wonderful service from Kirk of the Pines focused on Pentecost and the story of The Tower of Babel. Lunch was fantastic at Colors (a Sports Bar) where we all tried a variety of different foods like lobster tail, grouper, and coconut-crusted chicken…and some resorted back to their childhood ways with chicken strips and fries.
The next part of the day was the most impactful on the trip for many. We had the opportunity to distribute food and supplies to those a church partner of Many Hands had identified in need. Not only did we supply physical blessings but more importantly spiritual blessings. We had three local women who are leaders in the community escort us around the island to individual homes. They all had experience doing this before so they helped prepare our hearts and minds for the afternoon. We split into two groups and were able to hear the personal stories of the homes we stopped at. This is something that not many people get the opportunity to do.
What was revealed to all of us was the faith that many of these members had even though many are still experiencing hardship. This stuck with us as many of us have lived much different lives in comparison to those we met today and yet they still have very strong faith and gratitude toward the Lord. As these individuals are still struggling with personal tragedy they were still able to bless us with their steadfast faith in Jesus, even more than we could bless them with anything that could nourish their physical bodies.
All in all, it was an IMPACTful day that will stick with us for the rest of our lives!
Signing out,
