Breckyn De Vries shares the impacts she has felt during her third day in Abaco. She continues to take a deeper dive into building old and new relationships.
I woke up to a very beautiful sunrise this morning! It was the prettiest one I have seen for a while. I decided it was such a nice morning so I wanted to take a walk on the beach. I enjoyed my time with God all alone because it was a good time to talk to him in his creation. After breakfast, I had the opportunity to go to Agape Christian School and sort books to give to classrooms. All of the books were pre-used and were just sitting in a room. We were organizing them so that the teachers could have books in their room for the students to read. We want the kids to be able to learn and read as much as they can so we had to get those sorted and organized by grade.
When we got done with lunch, our group split up for different afternoon tasks. Most of the guys went back to the house they had been working on all morning. They are installing electrical wires and plumbing there.

It was a nice gym with 2 courts so we had a good amount of room to work on skills. I did not participate in helping coach the kids but a lot of the other people did. I sat at a table with Paisly, and we made bracelets. We got to know each other a little bit better and learned about each other. We were making bracelets for the girls at camp. We did not get all of them done, but we did get a good start on them. I hope to hand them out tomorrow at camp so I will be working on those in my free time. I am thinking that I will get to help coach tomorrow because I will hopefully have all the bracelets done. We stayed a little bit after camp got over to play volleyball a little bit and we had the opportunity to talk with some of the campers.

I got the chance to meet a girl named Danica; she is only 13 and already understands the value of getting an education. She said she has to leave her house at 6 in the morning so that she can get to school on time. School starts at 9, so keep that in mind. She has to ride a ferry over, and then from there, she has to walk to Agape Christian School. She is very committed to her learning.
Her story impacted me today because I realized how fortunate I am to live 5 minutes away from school. Her story was the one that stood out to me the most. We do not realize how good we have it at home and how easy it is for us to get to places. We can just quickly get there whereas with many people living in the Bahamas, they have to plan that they are doing something because otherwise they would not get there in time.

We got back and had a great dinner that the ladies made for us and we split into family groups to do our IMPACT time. I always love that time because that is the one time that my family is all together and can talk to each other after the day is over.
